Apprenticeships
3-4 years duration, 1 day training per week
- Carpentry and Joinery
- Construction Carpentry
- Plumbing
- Roof Plumbing

- Wall and Floor Tiling

Traineeships
1-2 years duration, average 3 hours online training per week
- Business Administration Certificates III and IV

This is not year 10 work experience. The work - and the money - is real.

Apprentice & Trainee FAQ
How long is an Apprenticeship / Traineeship?
Apprenticeships have a duration of 3 – 4 years and Traineeships have a duration of 1 – 2 years.
How many days / how often do I attend TAFE?
For most trade apprenticeships, you will attend TAFE 1 day each week during the TAFE Terms and Semesters. For most Traineeships you will complete online training units of competency for approximately 3 hours each week.
Do I get paid for TAFE?
Yes! You get paid for all TAFE days
How do I apply?
Apply through our website by clicking ‘JOBS’ in the top right corner.
What happens if my Host Employer runs low on work?
In the unlikely case that the Host Employer you are placed with runs low on work, you are handed back to NMBA to place you out with a new Host Employer to continue your Apprenticeship.
How do I get into TAFE?
At the commencement of your Apprenticeship, the TAFE Campus of your choice is notified and an enrolment link will be emailed to you prior to the next intake
Do I need any tools before I start?
Nope. As a new start first year Apprentice, we provide you with a basic hand tool kit and tool box, as well as the necessary equipment to kit start your onsite learning. As you progress through your Apprenticeship, you will expand your tool kit.
