Newcastle MBA offers a pathway for individuals interested in obtaining full-time employment in a high demand trade while gaining a nationally recognised qualification.

Newcastle MBA will be your Employer for the duration of your Traineeship to handle everything administration wise and provide support and guidance while you’re gaining on the job skills with a valued Host Employer.

About the Host Employer/Role:​

Newcastle MBA have a Commercial Carpentry Apprenticeship available with one of the local leading, award-winning construction companies. They’re looking for a hardworking Apprentice with a strong work ethic to join their busy team! This position is based in Newcastle and services the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Hunter regions. Indigenous applicants are encouraged to apply.

You will gain an understanding and develop a large range of skills relating to Commercial Carpentry as well as problem solving, teamwork and communication skills. You will also learn to work collaboratively with the team to ensure efficient project completion.

Desired Qualities:

  • A strong desire to learn and grow in the field of Civil Carpentry.
  • Commitment to completing a 4-year Certificate III Carpentry Apprenticeship (TAFE studies and onsite skills).
  • Find fulfilment in practical and hands-on tasks, considering themselves “hands-on” individuals.
  • Honest, hardworking, reliable and able to follow instructions.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills with the capability to ask questions when needed.
  • Holds a current drivers licence and has reliable transportation to and from local job sites.
  • White card or willing to obtain prior to starting.
