Newcastle MBA offers a pathway for individuals interested in obtaining full-time employment in a high demand trade while gaining a nationally recognised qualification.
Newcastle MBA will be your Employer for the duration of your Traineeship to handle everything administration wise and provide support and guidance while you’re gaining on the job skills with a valued Host Employer.
- Receive accurate and timely payments – MBA processes your pay, superannuation, etc.
- Job Security – If your Host Employer runs low in work, MBA will attempt to find another Host Employer in order for you to continue and complete your Traineeship.
- Learn from and be mentored by industry experts.
- Don’t pay, get paid – Training Fees are covered and textbook costs are reimbursed to you.
- Receive personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout your Apprenticeship (Steel-Cap Boots, Hard Hat, Gloves, Hat, Vest, etc).
- Toolbox and basic toolkit provided on your induction day.
- Receive dedicated support from our Field Officers throughout your Traineeship.
About the Host Employer/Role:
Newcastle MBA have a Civil Carpentry Apprenticeship available with one of the local leading infrastructure and civil construction companies. They complete a range of work involving public infrastructure, energy & technology, civil, industrial, water & environment and commercial projects. They’re now looking for a hardworking Apprentice with a strong work ethic to join their busy team! This position is based in Newcastle and services the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Hunter regions.
You will gain an understanding and develop a large range of skills relating to Civil Construction such as formwork carpentry, steel fixing and concreting on civil infrastructure projects also including measurements, problem solving, teamwork and communication. You will also learn to work collaboratively with the team to ensure efficient project completion.

Desired Qualities:
- A strong desire to learn and grow in the field of Civil Carpentry.
- Commitment to completing a 4-year Certificate III Carpentry Apprenticeship (TAFE studies and onsite skills).
- Find fulfilment in practical and hands-on tasks, considering themselves “hands-on” individuals.
- Honest, hardworking, reliable and able to follow instructions.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills with the capability to ask questions when needed.
- Holds a current drivers licence and has reliable transportation to and from local job sites.
- White card or willing to obtain prior to starting.
